The Miss America phases of competition and scoring for the upcoming State competition has been released. This will be used for both Miss and Teen.

▪️Interview is now more important than ever. There will be in introduction where you can pitch your service initiative. (No update on if there is still a closing statement). Keep this in mind, as it may impact total interview time.
▪️Talent is being scored as a performance. This tells me less emphasis on technical skill and more focus on entertainment. The official name seems to be Performance Talent/HERstory, which is supposed to expand the monologue and spoken word option and allow ladies more speaking options.
▪️ Health and Fitness will not have a routine. It will be walking patterns. This takes me back to the Lifestyle and Fitness in swimsuit era.
▪️The Onstage Question will be replaced with Onstage Conversation, and May not be in evening gown (to be determined)
