The Miss America’s Outstanding Teen program is a mentoring opportunity for girls between the ages of 13-17. It provides the chance to warm up to the Miss America system, while serving the community. Contestants may either earn a local title, frequently through an essay contest, then represent their region at the state’s Outstanding Teen pageant. The winner then has the opportunity to work with the state Miss contestant to further their personal platforms, the state Organization, and the Children’s Miracle Network. She also gets to spend a week in Jacksonville, Florida, competing for the national title of Miss America’s Outstanding Teen.
