The Miss Queens Organization was formed to provide another title for the many talented young women in the Greater New York City region. The title had first been used in 1924 when a contestant used it as entry to the Miss America pageant. It was then used periodically throughout the next few decades before the current relaunch. The inaugural pageant had only 4 contestants from both Queens and Long Island, but in their second year they were able to double their numbers and award a Star Princess title as well. By their 3rd year the board felt confident to add the second title, Miss Brooklyn!
