Each year one girl will walk away with a local crown, compete at Miss New York (possibly win!), and at the end of her year- she will pass the crown on to the next girl. But these amazing, smart, beautiful, and talented women should not be forgotten. They are an important part of the Miss New York legacy.

In 2007, the Miss Upstate New York title was awarded as a dual crown with Miss Central New York. In 2012, the title was added as a crown at the Miss Greater Rochester Pageant. (Nina Davuluri won the Greater Rochester title that year.) Finally, in 2013, it became an official second title of the Miss Finger Lakes Organization.
